dancing in front of the king

This practice is rooted in the experience of being in the margins, taking inspiration from the everyday practices of resistance by individuals and communities. This perspective aligns with the thoughts of bell hooks, who theorised the margins not just as a realm of oppression, but also as a space for resistance, empowerment, and knowledge/perception. The lived knowledge of that coming from being in inside and outside, provides the potential of critical thinking and performing.

dancing in front of the king aims to connect and share the multiplicities of knowledge and experience through alternative publication forms as a means of collective empowerment. Inspired by the zine movement, the practice seeks to create a space for connection, reflection, and dialogue, processing into a playful and performative zine-making.
