Chengwei Xia is an artist from Sichuan, China, currently based in London. Her practice moves across drawing, writing, and making, approaching art as a slow, relational process of co-presence, care, and cultivation. Her work unfolds through long-term attention to specific places and relationships. It brings together personal narrative, local knowledge, and embodied experience, taking shape through practices such as foraging, growing, and making. Through these processes, she attends to non-linear temporalities and to forms of knowledge that are often overlooked or marginalized, exploring how they might be sensed, remembered, and re-articulated.
