Portrait of Marilyn Nova White

Marilyn Nova White (they/them) is a Berlin-based Performer, Actor and Drag King working at the intersection of performance, intimacy and artistic research. Their practice moves between stage, workshop, and embodied experimentation, exploring how identity is constructed, performed, and transformed.

Rooted in their Bulgarian heritage and shaped by their work as a Drag King and facilitator, Marilyn investigates gender as a fluid, relational practice. Through their long-term Drag King project MALED IT!, they develop spaces where gender can be tried on, exaggerated, undone, and reimagined collectively.

Their work combines movement, body, humor, and biographical fragments — often blurring the lines between fine lines and lived experience. At the core is an interest in Drag Kinging as a method of embodied knowledge production, collective un/learning, and queer world-making.

At SoC, Marilyn develops Drag King Utopia as a shared, commons-based practice: a temporary space for experimentation, transformation, and the possibility of becoming otherwise.
